Technical Info

As-molded part tolerances ranges from + 002” – 0.003”

Draft needs to be taken into account when designing for die casting with the minimum draft angle 1° – 2°

Minimum wall thickness needed ranges from 0.039” – 0.060” depending o the material needed and part geometry

Parts in some cases can be designed with undercuts since molds can be created with side action or “cam”

Gates, where there’s an opening in the injection mold to release the part, come in the form Tab gates, Hot Tip gate or a Pin gate

Logos and lettering on parts is achievable.  We recommend Sans serif font r than 20 points and no deeper than 0.010”

Ribs are ideal for adding strength and preventing shrink. Ribs should be no less than 60% of the wall thickness

When designing bosses, go with thinner versus thicker

For corner radii on inside surfaces, we suggest 0.5 times the material thickness; for outer surfaces, we suggest 1.5 times the material thickness

A variety of surface finishes and texturing are available
